ID card, residence permit card, or e-Residency card issued after 14 November 2025
The card’s PIN codes cannot be renewed via the embassy. If you have forgotten the document’s PUK and the security code envelope is lost, you can view the PUK using Smart-ID or Mobile-ID in the Police and Border Guard Board’s self-service portal by selecting the “View ID card PUK” service. Alternatively, you can submit an application at a Police and Border Guard Board service point, and the PUK will be sent by post to an Estonian address.
A state fee of €10 applies to ordering a new PUK by post. If the PUK is blocked, you must apply for a new document.
